70926 Oil Cooler Kit with Thermostatic Sandwich Take-Off Plate

Add the vintage oil cooler look to your Roadster, 289 USRRC or Challenge car! This kit includes a genuine Mocal 13 row oil cooler, 10′ of 10AN braided stainless hose with 2 each straight and 90 degree swivel end fittings, and a Mocal 180F thermostatic oil take-off plate that installs between the oil filter and the engine block. Oil is not sent through the cooler until it reaches 180F. This means your engine gains extra cooling capacity for those hot summer afternoons or at the track or autocross, and you can still drive those short jaunts, in cooler weather, or at night without over-cooling your oil.  The extra cooling capacity is especially helpful for 351 based engines since their large 3″ main and 2.5″ diameter rod bearings shear a lot of oil which heats it. (302 based engines have 2.25″ main and 2-1/8″ rod bearings) The cooler mounts directly to, and requires modification of, your lower radiator aluminum. The cooler and thermostatic take-off are still made in England in the original plant. Nice! Notes: Not for use with shorty headers. Not for use with Coyote engines because they already come with a water to oil cooler. The coolers are powder-coated black or silver. The hose ends are available in black/silver or red/blue.
